On the other hand, I do not quite understand their

connection in America with the American metal Company,

and in London with H.R.Merton & Company. Mr. Yasuda told

me that these two concerns were practically the same,

and we know that Otto Keimers & Company besides dealing

with E.P. Earle, also had several transactions in copper

with the American Metal Company,

The exact status of Henry R. Merton & Company of

London 18 doubtless known at the Foreign Office, as the

Solicitor General in the case of the Zinc concentrates

seized on the British Steamer "Bilbster" at Swansea,

made a very interesting statement as to the connec-

tions of this firm with the parent concern, the Metall

Gesellschaft of Frankfurt.
